How are our products made?
Each unique piece within our collection is meticulously hand crafted in the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We use a high-performance concrete mix to maintain the natural look of concrete while infusing it with beautiful colours palettes with the use of tinted oxide, so the colour runs through the product.
Where can I see your range in person?
If you are on the Sunshine Coast, head to QEBS Design Showroom at 29 Commercial Road, Kuluin. They stock nearly our entire range of concrete basins, a selection of homewares including our concrete pedestal stool and our signature Bo pedestal table.
Are the products sealed?
Our concrete basin and concrete sinks are sealed, using several coats of a penetrative sealer which is absorbed into the concrete. Each basin is water tested before it leaves our home for yours, however there may be a small area that will go darken when wet. This darkening does not mean the sealant has failed. To ensure the integrity of the basins, we ask that you don’t leave your basin full of water for more than 15 minutes. This is due to our basins being sealed, not glazed as it allows the concrete to breathe.
What can I expect?
Our products are created to maintain the raw beauty of concrete. This includes colour movement/variation and the potential for small air pockets (also known as pitting) on the interior and exterior of the product. Please note, we cannot guarantee that the product will or will not have air pockets. These may appear over time, this is an unavoidable characteristic of concrete and is not a flaw but rather a part of concretes special character. Please know that the sealer will penetrate into these pinholes and the durability of the basin will not be compromised.
What is our shipping policy?
We take the utmost care in wrapping your fragile items but unfortunately cannot take responsibility for items damaged by Australia Post. If you would like to purchase extra postage insurance, please put that in the notes of your order and I can invoice you for that separately.
What is our refund policy on basins?
Returns will not be accepted for change of mind. We strongly suggest you order colour samples prior to ordering your basin or benchtops and understand that as our basins/benchtops are handmade, colours may vary. Colours seen on our website are representative ONLY due to the unique nature of concrete itself and that colours can be seen very differently on different computer screens and phones.
Returns will be accepted and a replacement for the item will be made in the following instances:
For all products exhibiting faulty materials or workmanship. This excludes surface imperfections and pinholes which may be present or develop due to the nature of concrete, staining or damage caused by incorrect care, use or installation. Please read the provided installation and care instructions for basins to ensure you do not void your warranty.
Any goods damaged during shipping will be replaced without charge providing photographic evidence is made available of goods arriving damaged within 24 hours of receipt and they are returned with original packaging. Please be aware as all our items are handmade in some instances there will be a delay in replacement due to lack of stock. This will be advised on a case by case basis.
Please check your item carefully before it is installed. Curated Concrete + Steel are not liable for any replacement costs associated with the install of damaged or faulty goods.
Returns will not be accepted for any damage caused by practices that do not follow our installation and care instructions.
Returns will not be accepted where the customer failed to read and understand the inherent characteristics of concrete and/or it's limitations as a material; this includes pinholes/air bubbles, veining and colour differences.
Returns will not be accepted outside of warranty conditions.
Returns will not be accepted for slight variations in dimensions (+/-5%). Tolerances are a normal, accepted part of manufacturing and do not indicate a faulty or mis-advertised product. Our basins are handmade, variances in colour, finish, texture are to be expected. We cannot guarantee ANY particular finish, colour, texture or tone due to the unique nature of concrete itself.
Refunds will only be provided in cases of extreme faulty workmanship on basins only.
Please note, refunds are not offered on bespoke/custom benchtops or tables due to their custom nature designed specifically for the space.
Pinholes/air bubbles and veining or slight colour variations are not considered faulty workmanship - these are the natural variances of concrete as a material. In these cases, a refund will not be offered
In the case of basins, Curated Concrete + Steel do not involve themselves with install, they are providers of a product only. Curated Concrete + Steel are not liable for any costs incurred in the removal and/or installation in the case of a faulty basin. We strongly recommend you read our Installation and Warranty guide carefully before purchase.
Curated Concrete products are made to order. Once the order has been placed we will commence manufacture and are unable to make changes to your order, accept cancellations, or provide credits. Please ensure your order is correct at the time of purchase
We have a 2 year manufacturers warranty on our beautiful basins (please review our Warranty terms and conditions) if the basin in faulty according to these terms, we will offer a replacement basin.
